What is Horizon Europe?

Horizon Europe is the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation with a budget of €95.5 billion.

The programme facilitates excellent science, collaborative research and innovation in efforts to develop and implement EU policies while tackling global challenges and fostering the tech-driven green and digital transitions.

Horizon Europe creates jobs, fully engages the available talent pool, boosts economic growth, promotes industrial competitiveness and optimises investment impact for stronger European Research Area and the New European Innovation Agenda.

Ukraine is among the 16 countries that are fully associated to Horizon Europe. Association means that the Ukrainian research and innovation actors can fully participate in the programme on equal terms with entities from the EU Member States. They are eligible to programme’s funding and can act as project coordinators.

In addition, in view of ongoing war, the European Commission has put in place dedicated support measures to support Ukraine’s researchers & innovator both in and out of the country. You can find more information here.
